NOTICE

Ontario's new cell phone policy is now in effect in schools.

At KPDSB, secondary students' personal mobile devices must be stored in student lockers or designated storage spaces and powered off or set to silent mode during instructional time. Students in Grades 6 and below are not permitted to bring their personal mobile devices to school. Grade 7 and 8 students, depending on the school they attend, may be permitted to bring phones to school, but they must be stored and powered off/silent. Accommodations/exemption can be requested at the school via application (e.g. medical).

Wi-fi access will be disabled for all student-owned devices. Students who bring their own device for educational purposes will be able to apply for wi-fi access at the school. Access to social media platforms and chat applications will be restricted.
